Financial outreach prog held at Kikruma
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 22
A financial outreach programme was held at Kikrüma village, Pfütsero Sub-division on January 22 with Executive Director, RBI Mumbai, S Karuppasamy as the main speaker. The speaker in his speech said that the main motive of the programme being organised in the village was to educate the rural people about the importance and necessity of banking system in rural areas. This programme was the fifth of its kind in the Northeastern region of India, he added. Each family should at least have one bank account in order to avail different facilities extended to the people and one should not be swayed away by false promises which we frequently come across in the form of SMSs, he warned.
Other dignitaries who attended the programme included GM NABARD, Regional Director of RBI, DGM outreach RBI, OSD Finance, Nagaland, V Kezo. Items like water filter, sound system, water purifier and sports goods were donated to schools and youth organization.
Chairman KVC, Vezohu Tunyi delivered the welcome speech while welcome song and cultural dance were presented by Village volunteers and Kikrüma cultural troupe respectively.
