Financial literacy camp at PSK areas

Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): One-day financial literacy camp was conducted at Tuophema village and Botsa village, Poorna Shakti Kendra pilot project areas on March 9. The program was organised by Mission Poorna Shakti Kendra in collaboration with NSSWB, NMDFC and SRCW and supported by FIF, NABARD

Manager, UCO Bank, Kohima, Saran Kumar Chetri, highlighted the importance of Banking. He cited the problems faced by the villagers and common people while depositing or transferring money and how to solve the problem.

Chetri advised the participants to have bank accounts and ensure they are operational. He also shared the available benefits from the bank and encouraged the participants to avail bank loan and schemes.

Speaking on the significance of digital banking, project manager of NSSWB, Asalie A. Kruse, stressed the need to get familiarise oneself with digital environment. He also encouraged the villagers and farmers to have a bank account, which in fact is a must for everyone, and to apply for an ATM card.

Keduokhonuo Cerina Belho of 181 shared on awareness of Women Hepline 181, One stop Center and Childine-1098, whiel Ajabu Tungoe, District Coordinator, PSK, presided over the interactive session.

After the session, a tree plantation drive was carried to commemorate the International Women’s Day and Swachhta Pakhwada, an initiative of the NMEW Scheme.
