Dimapur, Aug. 22 (EMN): Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, who is on a three-day visit to Nagaland, is scheduled to visit Mon district on Tuesday morning.
Konyak Union general secretary, Manpang K Wangyen, when contacted by Eastern Mirror informed that the Finance minister, will be inaugurating Axis Bank, which will be the first private bank in Mon district. The duration of her stoppage in Mon would be for 40 minutes.
Wangyen said Sitharaman is also scheduled to have a meeting with the Konyak Union during which it will be submitting a representation to her.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]The representation, he informed, will encompass a request to the government of India to set up a Central University in Mon; to approve a women’s college, which has already been proposed under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs; and to sanction the funds that have been approved for the construction of the National Highway as early as possible.
The Finance Minister will be received by the Advisor of Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) Bongkhao Konyak and MLA Eshak Konyak.
