FGN Sumi Region holds joint meeting, discuss impeachment of Vero

DIMAPUR — The Midan Peyu of the Sumi Region, Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), convened a joint meeting on October 25 with all the Sumi kilonsers, deputy kilonsers, tatars, secretaries, Naga Army officers, and other ranks to deliberate on the impeachment of Zhopra Vero, Kedallo, from the NNC/FGN, which was enacted by the centre on October 22 at Sanglao village.

According to a press statement issued by Khutovi Awomi, Midan Peyu of the Sumi Region, FGN, the Sumi Region unanimously pledged its full support for Brig. (Retd) S Singnya, Kedahge of the NNC/FGN, after a brief discussion.

Furthermore, the Sumi Region denounced and declared Zhopra Vero’s press statement, which appeared in local newspapers on October 21, as “null and void,” stating that it was beyond the Yehzabo of Nagaland.

The Sumi Region, on behalf of the government, also appealed to all the Naga people not to be confused with the NNC/FGN led by Brig. (Retd) S Singnya in all political matters, maintaining that he stands wholeheartedly for resolving the Naga political issues with the government of India at the earliest.
