February DPDB meetings for Kohima, Mon held

DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on Thursday at the DPDB conference hall, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, and attended by MLA Tsielhoutuo Rhütso.

According to a DIPR update, the house discussed the registration of new societies during the meeting, and the board decided to recommend the following societies to the government for further action: Padah Society, Mohonkhola, near Vineyard School, New Minister’s Hill, H/No. 106; Khatso Natso Women Society, Jakhama village, Khatso Natso Khel; and Nagaland Rhododendron Society, Jakhama town, Chüchorü, H/No. 67.

The board decided that more clarification on the activities and objectives of ‘Green the World’ would be required before proceeding with the registration.

On the agenda regarding the change of nomenclature from ‘Silas Memorial School’ to ‘Mezhur High’, the house decided to recommend it to the concerned authority as all the necessary criteria were found to be fulfilled and made available to the board.

In preparation for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election, the DC reminded the heads of offices who have not yet submitted the updated incumbency list and vehicle list to do so at the earliest. They have been requested to submit both soft and hard copies of the lists to the DC and DEO office, Kohima.

In addition, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) and District Forest Officer were tasked with delivering a PowerPoint presentation on their respective departments’ activities at the next DPDB meeting.

Mon: The Mon DPDB meeting was also held on Thursday, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, at the DC conference hall in Mon.

The meeting began with a brief review of the decision and previous meeting minutes, followed by the appointment of Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2023-2024 verification committee members.

Dr. Imnapokyim, Chief Medical Officer, Mon, presented a detailed profile of Mon District Hospital to the board members, highlighting some of the issues the hospital is facing.

The District Soil and Water Conservation Officer was entrusted with presenting a PowerPoint presentation of departmental activities at the next meeting.
