“I strongly condemn two bomb blasts in the thickly populated National Highway 2 at Larie Colony, Kohima causing injuries to innocent publics and damaging public properties,” the home minister stated.
“At about 12 noon on April 15, a crude bomb exploded at National Highway 2 near Larie Junction, Kohima but by God’s providence, no one was injured. And before the shocks of the bomb blast died down, another high intensity bomb again exploded on April 16 at the same stretch of NH 2 at the same Colony, inflicting to at least three innocent persons, besides damaging vehicle and some houses nearby.”
Accoridng to the politician, “in spite of repeated appeals made by general publics to those who were hell-bent on creating nuisances and disturbances, these people showed no compunction for the human lives and their sole intention was seen as to deliberately create fear psychosis in the minds of the citizens who have been living peacefully.”
“All the sensible people should condemn such cowardly and dastardly repeated acts of terrorism,” Patton stated.
“The Nagas have been suffering enough and time has come to reason together to finding a permanent and lasting peace in our land, and they should know that their acts of repeated terrorism would not deter people and agencies from their strives to bring peace in their land once and for all”.
Finally, coming to actual steps to address the situation, the minister had only this to state: “Under any circumstances, the state government will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to see that peace and tranquility is not disturbed in the state and urge the state law enforcement agencies to nab the culprits responsible for the crime”.
