F&CS department cautions FPS against non-compliance of eKYC campaign

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Food and Civil Supplies (F&CS) has informed that any National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiary under the state of Nagaland can update eKYC from any FPS in the state, as per the direction of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Department.

“It has come to the knowledge of the undersigned that some Fair Price Shops in the state are not permitting the beneficiaries attached to other FPS to perform eKYC in their FPS, except for those who are attached to their FPS,” the department stated in a public notice.

The department reminded that no FPS in the state of Nagaland should deny or hinder any NFSA beneficiary registered under the department of Food and Civil Supplies, to perform eKYC campaign so as to achieve the target set by the Government of India within the stipulated period.

Necessary action will be initiated against FPS not complying with the notice, it stated.

The department further reminded that the timeline set by the Ministry to complete eKYC is February, 2024.
