Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): Administrators of Facebook and WhatsApp groups based in Wokha want to go beyond the screen. They ‘thought of going out beyond social media and contribute at least something productive for the good of the society,’ according to updates from them.
The administrators of the groups planted flowers and ‘conducted social work’ at the deputy commissioner’s office complex in Wokha, the updates stated.

They sought to convey to youths about responsible use of the media. For instance, people who circulate unauthenticated messages create differences among the public, the updates stated.

Deputy Commissioner of Wokha Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon was said to have ‘acknowledged the good initiative of the district social media administrators.’

Samoon was stated to have said that the district administration was proactive on social media platforms too with Twitter, Facebook page, and Instagram accounts as well as a YouTube channel in the name of the Wokha’s deputy commissioner’s establishment. He appealed to the youths make ‘ethical use of social media to build a constructive society,’ the updates stated.

The organisers said that the small event was a “zero financial budget project.” The updates suggested that they will be organising more such events in the near future with collective effort from citizens of the area.

Rev. Khombemo P Kikon, assistant pastor at Wokha Town Baptist Church, invoked blessings, the updates added.
