DIMAPUR — The Political Science Association (PSA) of Fazl Ali College (FAZ), Mokokchung, organised a Tarun Sabha at the college auditorium, on Tuesday.
The event marked the first youth parliament under the aegis of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, an update informed.
In his welcome speech, Dr. E Benrithung Patton, HoD of Political Science, FAZ, outlined the objectives of the youth parliament and said that it is to promote civic engagement and empower youths by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary for a deep understanding of parliamentary affairs.
General secretary of the BJP Mokokchung unit, Tsukjemwati, who also spoke on the occasion, also stressed on the importance of both theoretical and practical experience in parliamentary affairs.
The event witnessed the participation of 50 political science honours students, who played the roles of ruling MPs, MPs from the opposition, foreign delegations, and marshals. Students and faculties from JMC, JMS, MHSS and Shisajen Riju also attended the event.
