Farmers from Kiphire visit to KVK farm in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — Farmers from Kiphere district visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) farm in Dimapur on November 8, organised by KVK Kiphire under farmers exposure programme.
The team led by Temjenna, SMS, DAMU, KVK Kiphire, was welcomed by Dr. Phool Kumari, senior scientist and head, KVK Dimapur and encouraged the farmers to adopt technologies which would be feasible in their farm land.
An update from KVK Dimapur stated that Imliakum Pongen, senior technical officer, apprised the farmers on the ongoing activities at KVK Dimapur demonstration farm. He elaborated on the integrated farming system, vermicomposting, three tier farming system, and quality planting materials of black pepper.
It stated that some of the technologies were new to the farmers and they were persuaded to implement in their farm.
Dr. Bendangla Imsong, ACTO (Plant Breeding) and Dr. Roben Singh, ACTO (Agronomy), also shared some basic agricultural practices of the popularly grown winter vegetables of Dimapur district.
