Farewell programme held for outgoing DAO Longleng

DIMAPUR — A farewell programme in honour of outgoing officer S Yongchang Phom, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Longleng, was held on Saturday at the DAO office in Longleng.

According to a DIPR report, speaking on the occasion, Deputy District Agriculture Officer (DDAO) P Kongham Phom, in his short speech, congratulated Yongchang on his new assignment as additional director and noted that during his short tenure as DAO, his dedication and selfless contribution towards the farming community were eye-openers for Longleng farmers.

He added that as an officer, Yongchang worked very efficiently at the grassroots level for the upliftment of the farmers and thanked him on behalf of the staff for his contributions not only towards farmers but also for setting a good example for his successor.

The outgoing officer, in his address, thanked the staff for their cooperation and support and acknowledged their diligence in carrying out all office and field work as assigned. He encouraged everyone to continue with that working spirit for the upliftment of the farming community.

He emphasised that agriculture is the backbone of Nagaland’s livelihood and urged everyone to work efficiently and support farmers.

The programme was chaired by M Chingsang Phom, Agriculture Officer (AO) of Longleng.
