FAC’s Red Ribbon Club conducts community extension service
DIMAPUR — In an effort to combat the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and educate the youth, the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Fazl Ali College, in collaboration with the Medical Youth Fellowship MTBA, organised a community extension service on the theme ‘Peer sensitisation on HIV/AIDS’.
According to a press release, the event aimed to raise awareness and foster understanding among the younger generation.
The programme, held on Sunday at the Medical Fellowship Church, Mokokchung, was attended by RRC nodal officers, student members of FAC, and community youth members.
Yashikala Jamir, RRC Nodal Officer at FAC, advocated in her speech the importance of peer education in addressing the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. She emphasised the pivotal role that young people can play in fostering supportive environments and making informed decisions regarding their well-being.
Sentienla Kichu chaired the programme, and the RRC student members participated in the proceedings of the event, it said.
