Diphu, August 14 (EMN): Karbi Anglong is experiencing viral bandh which has affected the normal lives of the people in the district. The post about bandh in the district went viral on facebook wherein all the shops were shut down, public busses were not functioning and few vehicles were seen moving in town area in the morning. According to reports there was no certain organisation who has called for a bandh. The bandh viral erupted from facebook.
One Song Sar Song Terang, Publicity Secretary of Karbi People’s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) anti-talk faction has called KA bandh from 13 August 6 pm to 15 August 6 pm as a Black Day. This was stated by Song Sar Song Terang, Publicity Secretary who has posted on Facebook at KAT news page.
They also threaten the people of KA by saying that during the bandh there will be explosion in places like Dokmoka, Diphu, Bokolia, Bokajan, Hamren, Kheroni, Jengkha and Dongkamukam. However there is no official press statement, it was only posted on facebook which went viral in the district.
While talking to Superintendent of Police (SP) of Karbi Anglong, Dr. G.V. Siva Prasad said that there is nothing like anti-talk KPLT, the photo used was originally published on 23rd Jan 2013 in a vernacular THEKAR newspaper. He said it was an act by some miscreants to enjoy holiday by taking salary as a working day. We have already started the investigation about the issue he added.
