Dimapur — Fazl Ali College (FAC) in Mokokchung was declared the best college among 17 other colleges under 25 Naga Bn NCC during the training year 2022-23.
An update from the college stated that the senior division (boys) and senior wing (girls) NCC cadets of the college took active part in various activities like rifle shooting, drill, rent pitching, blood donation and cultural activities and have received a number of prizes. Besides, they have also taken part in Independence Day, Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat (national integration), trekking, pre-Republic Day camps etc and have staged spectacular performances in all of them.
It mentioned that the cadets have also been at the forefront of social welfare and patriotic activities like Puneet Sagar Abhyan (cleaning of water bodies), Har Ghar Tiranga, support to orphanages, tree plantation, Yoga Day etc. earning accolades from the local communities.
It stated that the award giving ceremony was held at the college on March 31, which was attended by the college’s principal, Dr. Wati Imchen; commanding officer of 25 Naga Bn NCC, Col CST Swamy; college’s vice principal, Vinod Kumar; ANO Lt. Leremongla; CTO Dr. Imliwati Longkumer; PI staff and a large number of NCC cadets.
On the occasion, Col. CST Swamy read out a message from Brig. Praveen Sangwan, NCC Group Commander, Kohima, who has congratulated the cadets of Fazl Ali College and appreciated the college management for the unflinching support towards NCC activities.
It stated that the commanding officer has listed lofty achievements of the cadets and praised them for their dedication and discipline. He has also highly praised the impeccable role of the principal and ANO. It added that the role of PI staff and Purakum, LDA, also received special mention.
In his presidential address, Dr. Wati Imchen thanked all staff of 25 Naga Bn NCC for providing timely guidance and whole hearted support to the college. He lauded the hard work of the cadets and selfless mentorship of Lt. Leremongla that has resulted in the FAC NCC being adjudged the best amongst 17 colleges in Nagaland.
He further called upon the cadets to put in their best effort to retain the No. 1 position in future also.
Report added that the ‘Best Performance’ Trophy and certificate of appreciation was handed over to the principal by the commanding officer and ‘Best ANO’ certificate was handed over to Lt. Leremongla.
In another programme, the Career Guidance and Counseling Cell of the college organised a career guidance programme for the 6th semester of BA, B.Sc on March 31.
Anirban Mukherjee, operations manager at Emporium Skills Training Institute, Dimapur, spoke on the avenues available in the field of aviation, hospitality, cruise-lines shipping and overseas jobs worldwide with information on pay package provided by the industry.
Altogether, 143 students participated in the programme.
