Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) has urged the authorities to stop all kinds of unauthorised and ‘illegal taxations’ along national highways and to ensure that the “syndicate systems and lease systems” imposed by “certain organizations” are removed.
The CBCC issued a press release dated October 22 making the statement besides expressing appreciation for the work of the Dimapur-based Naga Council’s public action committee.

The CBCC conducted a meeting of its executive committee on October 16 and the 17th during which it “resolved to appreciate and extend support to the initiative of the Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council Dimapur for their efforts to contain the menace of illegal activity following the detection of rampant illegal collection of tax by various organizations in the state.”

“The CBCC urges the concerned authority to stop all kinds of unauthorized and illegal taxations along the national highways and also ensure that all syndicate systems and lease systems imposed by certain organizations are removed,” the CBCC stated.

The church council appealed to the government authorities to “ensure and reactivate proper functioning of price regulation committee in all the districts of the state so as to save the public from undue economic burdens.”

Likewise, the CBCC appealed to all believers to live out their faith and put into practice the Biblical values of honesty and integrity in all areas of life, the statement added.
