Dimapur, May 26 (EMN): Continuing with its routine frisking as part of the Election Expenditure Monitoring (EEM), the Excise department has arrested three persons in possession of illegal liquor.
Stating this in a press release, T Arilong Longkumer, superintendent of excise and prohibition, stated that one person identified as Apong (22), son of Kisho and resident of 7th Mile, Dimapur, was arrested with 296 bottles of liquor on May 25.
In another incident, the Excise personnel had arrested two persons identified as Rajesh (27), son of Devnath and resident of West Yard, and Vikash (29), son of Bimol and resident of Rail Gate, Dimapur, on May 25. The Excise personnel had seized 665 litres of country liquor from their possession at West Yard area, Dimapur.
It further stated that cased have been registered against the accused persons under the relevant section of the NLTP Act.
