Diphu, March 14 (EMN): The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Executive Member (EM), in charge Land and Revenue, Rupsing Teron said that the eviction drive in Langkaijan bordering Karbi Anglong and Hojai which was supposed to be conducted on March 9 and March 11 had to be suspended as survey works are still in progress. He said this while speaking to media persons at his official chamber on March 14.
He said the eviction drive will be resumed after the survey is completed.
EM Teron said that the Director of Land Record (DLR), Assam and a joint survey team from both the districts have visited Langkaijan on March 9 and a preliminary land survey have been done during which an indication of temporary demarcation were installed in the bordering area.
Also, Teron said that the survey will be completed by March 20 after which Langkaijan area being occupied by illegal encroachers will be evicted.
