DIMAPUR — Eureka Preschool was inaugurated on Saturday on the campus of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School (QMHSS), Mokokchung, in the presence of students, staff, managing board members, and parents of the preschoolers.

According to a press release, speaking on the occasion and elaborating on the facility, Rev. Fr. Sajimon, the principal, informed the gathering that the preschool will have five demarcated areas, including two fully functional preschool class rooms with all necessary teaching aids and furnishings, as well as two indoor and one outdoor play area attached to the classrooms.

Speaking about the importance of establishing a preschool on the school campus, he emphasised that the preschool is a continuation of the Catholic Church’s ongoing efforts to provide the best and most affordable high-quality early childhood care and education (ECCE) as well as elementary, secondary, and higher education, as clearly stated in the new Educational Policy (NEP) 2020.

Sentinenla, district education officer, Mokokchung, commended the Catholic Church in her speech for delivering quality education in the state through its extensive network of schools, colleges, and universities.

She also emphasised the importance of starting preschool and providing a solid foundation, particularly in ECCE, for students aged 3 to 8, especially in light of the NEP 2020.
