Essay writing contest marks Menstrual Hygiene Day
Dimapur, May 29 (EMN): Commemorating the Menstrual Hygiene Day, Nagaland branch of Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) organised an inter-school essay writing competition on May 28 at Muskan Youth Centre on the theme “Its time for action: Together we can empower all women and girls to realise their full potential.”
The essay writing competition was conducted on the topic “Empowering women and girls through good menstrual hygiene.”
The programme began with a brief introduction on the significance of the day by Ville Rhetso, counsellor FPA India. The students were provided 45 minutes to write an essay.
Akangkokla Namo, Programme Officer FPA India, initiated a brief discussion on menstrual related issues with the teachers of the invited schools. The programme concluded with a song performed by Kezevinuo Sogotsu followed by a photo campaign on the slogan ‘No more limits.’
Aneizo Chadi from Holy Family Higher Secondary School was declared winner of inter-school essay writing competition.
