Special guest along with resource persons, STINER staff and the participants during a one-day awareness programme on entrepreneurship at SASRD, NU, Medziphema, on August 31.

Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): A one-day awareness programme on entrepreneurship was organised by STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU, SASRD, on August 31 at SASRD Campus. The main focus of the programme was to create an entrepreneurship atmosphere in the campus for agriculture students in order to make them entrepreneurs in future.
Prof. AK Makar, Dean of NU: SASRD, and special guest, highlighted on the importance of entrepreneurship especially in the field of agriculture and the opportunities that exist in the sector, stated an update from Andrew Lalthawmliana, Project Assistant of STINER-TFC, NU: SASRD, on Tuesday.

The programme was chaired by Prof. Akali Sema, Project In-charge of STINER-TFC, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sentirenla Changkiri, Project Assistant; Pekjum Kakki, president EU, SASRD, invoked God’s presence, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Andrew Lalthawmliana, Project Assistant.

The inaugural programme was followed by lectures and practical activities from eminent resource persons namely Lezo Putsure, Director of YouthNet; Samir Bordoloi, secretary general of Spread-NE; Vito Sumi, proprietor of Ghile farm; Rev. Dr. Chingmak Chang, secretary of Eleutheros Christian Society; and T Dili Khekho, proprietor of D-Cafe.

The resource persons spoke on important aspects of entrepreneurship – importance, benefits, opportunities, challenge and case studies to create awareness about the opportunities that the entrepreneurship sector provides in helping one to become more innovative, independent and successful in life.

A total of 112 numbers of students from B.Sc. (Agri.) Honours 2nd year, 3rd year and B.Voc. participated in the programme.
