Dimapur, November 1
Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has served six days ultimatum effective from November 1 demanding for appointment and posting of 161 maths and science teachers and 200 primary teachers and 302 RMSA teachers. It has threatened to shut down all schools in Eastern Nagaland that could affect even the exams in the event of the government’s failure to comply with its demand.
It may be mentioned here that the Commissioner and Secretary of School Education (SE) reportedly assured the agitating RMSA teachers to appoint teachers by November 10, 2015.
ENSF press release issued by its assistant general secretary, Topongchuba Chang, reminded the department of School Education with regard to the appointment of 161 math’s and science teachers, 200 primary teachers and 302 RMSA teachers which are the offshoot of the Niathu Resort Agreement in the year 2011 agreed upon in letter and in principle by the State government.
ENSF claimed that teachers were yet to be given appointment order and posted in the schools even after a lapse of four academic years. Accusing the government of ‘injustice and discrimination’ meted to the students of Eastern Nagaland, the Federation said it would no longer tolerate the policy of delay tactics.
The Federation also informed that the department of School Education would be solely held responsible in the event of any eventuality. Meanwhile, it said the Federation would not entertain any meeting with any authority on the issue until the teachers are posted in the schools.
