Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Dimapur (ENPUD) celebrated its silver jubilee on November 23 by organising a ‘Flair and Musikulture Eve’ event at DDSC stadium in Dimapur. The motto of the event was ‘To bring progress and unity.’

Speaking on the occasion, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) administrator, Albert Ezung said that “jubilee is a time to reflect our past and how we have grown over time, and we are here today because of our forefathers’ scarifies.”

Ezung added that the past 25 years might not have been good but ‘we have overcome many hurdles and achieved many milestones’.

Ezung urged the gathering to focus and envision where they want to be in the future, and there is no one to stop them from their endeavour. He further added that Nagas are very talented but talent alone will not help. Hard work, practice and good marketing can lead them ahead, he said.

Ezung advised that they should preserve their culture and identity as one’s way of life reflects their culture, adding that ‘our culture is our identity’.

Artists like Munoz Shiu featuring Sonic Flamers Crew, Chaue and Angthei, Mendan Konyak, and well known artists Tali Angh and Ato Yim performed during the event.

Boys in Hood, Triphylla and Naomi enthralled the audience through dance performances; ‘a moment of laughter’ by Lenwang Konyak and creative painting by Alopi Snagtam were some of the other performances during the celebrations.
