DIMAPUR — Eastern Nagaland Legislatives Union (ENLU) held a meeting with Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), its frontal organisations and all tribal units at the Department of Under Developed Area (DUDA) Sovima, Chümoukedima on November 17.

General Secretary of ENPO, Manlang Phom said that the main point of discussion today pertained to the participation of eastern Nagaland tribes in the upcoming Hornbill festival scheduled from December 1 to the 10th. However, the meeting which lasted more than three hours did not yield a conclusive decision.

Phom said that another meeting would be convened in the coming days, although he did not specify the exact date.

Responding to questions about whether the ENPO had altered its previous decision to abstain from participating in the festival, Phom clarified that the situation was not definitive. He reiterated the plan for another consultative meeting and expressed optimism about a positive outcome.

ENPO President Tsapikiu Sangtam echoed the general secretary, affirming that they could not arrive at a conclusive decision. He also mentioned plans to conduct another round of consultative discussions.

During the meeting, P Paiwang Konyak, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland and MLA Kipili Sangtam were present, along with other colleagues from ENLU.
