ENPO wants Nagaland govt.’s response on Frontier Nagaland Territory by Oct. 31
DIMAPUR — The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has requested Nagaland government to deliver its comment on the “Highlight of the draft MoS with ENPO on FNT (Frontier Nagaland Territory)” on or before October 31.
A press release informed that this was a unanimous resolution adopted during the ENPO’s co-ordination and consultative meeting with its frontal and tribal organisations held on Friday at Mon town.
It reminded that the ENPO had submitted a “request letter” to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on August 23, followed by a reminder on September 14 “to send its comment as expected by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), GoI”.
“Further, it may be recalled that, on the 18th of December, 2023, the Union Home Minister Amit Shahji had handed over the ‘Highlight of the draft MoS with ENPO on FNT’ to the state government for its comment at the earliest. However, the issue is being stalemated till date for reasons best known to the state government.
“The ENPO once again reminds our chief minister to consider the need of the Eastern Nagas in its quest to fulfil its long-cherished aspiration. The house resolved to convene the central executive council meeting (CEC) meeting on the 1st of November, 2024 where further course of action on the matter shall be deliberated,” it stated.
