The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) have jointly condemned the shootout incident that took place between Pungru and Phuvkyu village in which one Shojim, a cadre of the GPRN/ NSCN was reportedly shot to dead by the NSCN (IM) on October 3.Terming the incident as unfortunate, the two organizations have termed as “direct challenge and insult to the ENPO declaration” at the Longleng session wherein it resolved to declare all ENPO jurisdiction as peace zone. ENPO and ENSF warned that it would be compelled to take stern action against any defaulting group or faction if such killing continues within its jurisdiction inspite of repeated appeals.
The two organisations stated that the people of Eastern Nagaland have neither given mandate to any faction to kill or to take away any soul nor will it tolerate any individual or groups taking  somebody’s soul away. It said such heinous and civilized act committed within its jurisdiction shall not be tolerated, it cautioned.
Expressing shock over the frequent shootout and killing incidents in the State, ENSF has termed Nagaland as a failed state in maintaining/ providing peace and security to its citizen. The Federation also questioned the GOI and the State law enforcing agency as to why they are silent when the society and its environment have been disturbed repeatedly.
The Federation also highly questioned the nature in which those so called national workers treat its own people. It has asked the NSCN (IM) to take stern action against erring cadres by terminating him from the service of the national movement with immediate effect.
The Federation has anticipated justice to be delivered at the earliest time and further appealed to all armed factions operating within its jurisdiction to refrain from killing one another. It further reminded that the concerned Naga political groups will be held solely responsible for any untoward situation if such acts are being continued or repeated in future.
