Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has condemned the November 18 incident at Thongtso village where some houses were burnt down, while one was seriously injured and another killed by some miscreants.

In view of prevailing tense situation, the ENPO requested all the concerned public of the area to co-operate with the district police force to find the culprits for necessary action as per the law.

A ENPO statement issued by its media cell reminded that it has a standing resolution wherein any disputes, misunderstandings within Eastern Nagaland people (within 6 tribes)  should be localised within the parties involved and resolved within the concerned group through peaceful dialogue. The resolution to this effect was adopted on December 18, 2019, during the celebration of ENPO peace and unity foundation at Tuensang headquarters, it stated.

It stated that the November 18 incident was contrary to the said resolution, which was adopted on popular public prayer and demand for peace and tranquillity within ENPO jurisdiction.

ENPO further requested all concerned not to communalise the issue but resolve the same in line with the resolution.
