Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): Following assurance from the State government to release full amount of the scholarship before Christmas, Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has decided to put off its agitation in abeyance.
ENCSU has acknowledged the government’s admission for lapses in the system. It expressed optimism that the system would be streamlined from next year as assured by the chief secretary.
The union has anticipated the report from the SIT and the same to be published in print media as demanded by the union. It has appealed the SIT to process and expedite the investigation so that the truth is revealed and justice is delivered.ENCSU has also expected impartial and fair investigation leaving no room for doubt and misgivings as the union was very clear about the reason and intention behind the setting up of SIT. The union desired that the report should not come to conclusion with some compromising solution or the other way round as it was never a case of argument or false allegations.
The union has also acknowledged the chief minister, cabinet and the chief secretary on their wise decision.
The union president M Longre Chang and the general secretary Wangnei C Jessuhu have appealed to all the students to have patience and to extend cooperation since the government had assured to disburse the scholarship before Christmas.
