Dimapur, October 30 : The Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has demanded on Sunday that the Nagaland government ‘immediately allocate’ the four MBBS seats as being demanded by the organization. The union issued a trite press release on October 30 assuring that their currently-suspended agitation would be ‘revoked’ should said demand go unaddressed.

“The ENCSU warn the state government to allocate remaining seats immediately. The ENCSU still stand with the ultimatum submitted on 26 July 2016 and another ultimatum submitted to chief minister on 29 Oct’ 2016 demanding for four MBBS seats to six Backward Tribes of eastern Nagaland,” the press release stated.
The ENCSU said it was “shocked” that some “non eastern tribes, who were showing lukewarm attitude were treacherously benefited out of the union’s fight.”

If the government can give seats, then “there’s no problem in giving four seats,” the group stated. “If there’s a will power with the government than there’s always a way to solve out the issue.”

The ENCSU also stated that even after a lapse of 96 days, the government “want to compromise the issue with two seats” which the union said couldn’t be accepted “until there’s some conditions to safeguard the two still missing seats.”

The union queried that “if other tribes” could ‘benefit double out of our cry’ than “why not the 6 backward tribes of eastern Nagaland?”

If the government fails to address the issue by allocating the remaining seats at the earliest, the organization will be compelled to ‘revoke its temporarily suspended agitation in consultation with the ENSF,’ it added.
