Dimapur, August 11 (EMN): With the objective of empowering and untap the young minds through various activities, the first Kandi area inter-school literary competition was organised under the theme, ‘’Untapping young minds,” on August 8, at Indoor Stadium cum Community Hall, Sishunu village.
The competition was initiated by Government High School Kandinu and organised in collaboration with Government Middle School Kandinu and Lami School Tsonsa.
Addressing the students as a chief guest, president of Rengma Selo Zi, Kenneth Kath said many minds have remained untapped due to lack of opportunities especially in rural areas and encouraged the students to grab the opportunity to explore one’s potential. Citing examples of successful personalities, he advised the students to identify their strength(s) and specialty and focus on it.
He said one should be creative and innovative in their studies and life and added that this can be achieved through active participation which will enable one to untap the rich potential that has been endowed by God.
Further, he asserted that if one is willing to brave the obstacles and challenges, he/she would grow strong in their potential and added that only the strong, courageous and the determined find success in their journey.
A total of 41 students from three schools contested in drawing, essay writing and story writing and spelling bee.
Prizes along with certificates were handed to the winners by the chief guest.
Cultural fashion show, special number and choreography performance were other highlights of the programme. The programme was attended by students and teachers of the three schools, village leaders, parents and well wishers.
