Employees of hotels, guest houses and lodgings are seen attending an orientation training on housekeeping protocols in Mokokchung town on April 18.

Dimapur, April 19 (EMN): In an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), a one-day orientation training on housekeeping protocols for the staff employed in different hotels, guest houses and lodgings in Mokokchung town was conducted on April 18 in the conference hall of the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office.

A report from the CMO office stated that Dr. Aonungdok, Dr. Tsipongchem, Watisenla and Rongsenkala conducted the training as the resource persons.

It stated that Dr. Aonungdok spoke on the symptoms, diagnosis, prevention and control measures, potential transmission via food etc. He also highlighted on precautions, physical distancing, stringent hygiene and sanitation measures.

Dr. Tsipongchem spoke on environmental decontamination (2) (3), cleaning protocols like disinfection of medial equipments, transport, toilet, cleaning soiled bedding, towels and clothes from patients with Covid-19 and bio medical waste management.

The trainees were also demonstrated on the proper use of mask, gloves and disposal. A short video on proper hand-washing and bio medical waste management was also shown.

Similar orientation training was also conducted on the same day for the catering committee, housekeeping staff at the quarantine centres. It stated that representatives from district administration, Watsu, AKM, and drug inspector attended the training.
