Assassination of Manisana a political conspiracy: MCP Mnp
IMPHAL: The Maoist Communist Party, Manipur has said today that the assassination of Manipur People’s Party (MPP) vice president Manisana on November 13 last year was a political conspiracy and the militant outfit has blamed the State Government for it. Two days ago, Manipur deputy chief minister Gaikhangam had said in the ongoing assembly session that the underground outfit URF was behind the killing of the MPP leader. The deputy chief minister had also claimed that the culprit had been arrested. Today, the Maoist Communist Party said the State Government had accused one militant outfit earlier but two days ago it accused another group for the killing. The Maoists then lamented ‘revolutionaries’ waging war for their rights should not kill people that easy. It said that one should be put to trial in people’s court before awarding punishment.

Seven-year old girl killed in Tripura hostel fire
Agartala: In a tragic incident, a seven-year-old girl was burnt to death and 10 other students were injured when their school hostel caught fire in a Tripura town, police said here Sunday. “A fire, caused by electric short circuit, broke out in a private school hostel Saturday night at Damchara, 200 km from here,” a police spokesman told the media. “Though 73 inmates, all girls, could manage to come out from the hostel, a girl failed to escape from the flames and was burnt alive.” Ten girls were also injured in the fire. Police said the unauthorised school hostel was over-crowded and was lacking proper infrastructure. The state government has ordered a probe into this incident.
