EGoN to crown Miss Dimapur 2023 on October 21
DIMAPUR — Come October 21, the Ethnic Group of Nagaland (EGoN) will crown its Miss Dimapur 2023 during an event scheduled to be held at Tetso College 5th Mile Sovima from 6 pm onwards. This was announced by the EGoN at a press conference held on Friday at Hotel Acacia in Dimapur.
The EGoN President, D Ledia Awomi, while persuading the parents not to prejudice beauty pageants but encourage the youngsters, said that this year’s Miss Dimapur is celebrating beauty pageants hence no particular theme for Miss Dimapur 2023.
The audition for Miss Dimapur 2023 was also held on Sep.22 at Hotel Acacia with the key members of the production team, show director, Nise Meruno; assistant director, Kehodi Yoho; choreographer, Toshizen Longkumer; makeup artist (MUA), Christy Tsanglao; president of EGoN and assisting with the audition was president of NDPP women wing Vikali Zhimomi.
The winner of Miss Dimapur 2023 will receive cash prize of INR 50,000, first runner-up with cash prize of INR 30,000 and the 2nd runner-up with cash prize of INR 20,000. Also the winner will get direct entry to the Miss India Quintessential pageant.
Choreographer and beauty pageant coach Toshizen Longkumer whose association with EGoN goes a very long time was positive on the level of professionalism this year.
Christy Tsanglao said the contestants will have hands on makeup class on how to groom and prepare themselves and to take care of their skin and beyond.
Nise Meruno expressed that beauty pageant in the state needs to be encouraged and that the girls need a good support system to groom in every aspect. “Even during the grooming session we hope we will groom them to be prepared to face the world”, he added.
The new production team, which boasts a talented and experienced line-up is poised to deliver an unforgettable experience.
