Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): With the objective to develop a Mathematics teacher’s handbook on Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) for Classes VI, VII and VIII, a two-day workshop on Mathematics Learning Enhancement Programme Nagaland (MLEPN) was held on May 14 and 15 at the Mathematics Laboratory, SCERT, Kohima.
Mathematics teachers from the GMS, GHS and GHSS from various districts of Nagaland attended the workshop.
At the valedictory function, SCERT Director, T Sekhose, stressed on the importance of mathematics education and how it cannot be undermined in this present technological era. He cited researches and surveys conducted by ASER and NAS which revealed poor performance in mathematics in the state.
He further said that SCERT has been making efforts to enhance the teaching skills of the mathematics teachers and making the subject more interesting and joyful.
