Educational institutes bid farewell to students, faculty members
DIMAPUR — Oriental College Kohima held its 27th Annual Parting Social on Tuesday for the outgoing B.A. 6th Semester and B.Com. 6th Semester students. The special guest for the programme was Glenn Thong, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Meriema Campus.
In his address, Thong urged the students to remain resilient and shared insights from his own life journey, offering enlightenment through his personal experiences, according to a press release.
He also provided examples from his own story, emphasising the importance of perseverance, especially in the face of academic challenges. Thong encouraged the students to strive for excellence and give their best efforts in their future endeavours.
Kohima Law College: The 45th Parting Social of Kohima Law College (KLC) took place at the Red Cross Conference Hall in Kohima on Tuesday, with Limaakum Jamir, Administrator of KLC, as the guest speaker.
According to an update, the occasion also saw the release of the college’s annual magazine by Soni Magh, Principal of KLC. Furthermore, outgoing students took the opportunity to reflect on their three-year journey at the college, sharing their experiences.
Kohima College: Kohima College hosted a farewell ceremony to honour Megovono Usou, a faculty member retiring after 35 years of service. The event was held at the college’s conference hall.
According to a press release, speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vitsosie Vüprü, Principal of Kohima College, commended Usou for her dedication and leadership, expressing gratitude for her significant impact on both students and colleagues.
Vice President of Kohima College Teachers’ Association (KCTA), Dr. Medongulie Tseikha, conveyed the association’s best wishes to Usou, and Khriezenuo Angami, associate professor of the English department, delivered a speech, reminiscing about Usou’s leadership and mentorship qualities.
In her speech, Usou expressed gratitude for the love and kindness shown to her throughout her tenure. She thanked her colleagues, students, and the college administration for their support and camaraderie.
Fazl Ali College: Fazl Ali College held the farewell programme in honour of retiring faculty member Dr. Imcharenla, head of department, department of Economics, on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Dr. I Wati Imchen, Principal of Fazl Ali College, spoke on behalf of the teaching faculty members and expressed gratitude for her work and contributions to the college.
Imcharenla, in her farewell speech, expressed her gratitude towards the college and fondly reflected on her 31 years and one month at the college, with a total teaching tenure of 34 years and 9 months. She advised her peers and students to give their best to the growth of the institution.
