The Naga Students’ Federation has drawn the attention of the education department to the deteriorating education system in the State and underscored the need to give utmost importance to government schools in the interests of student community.
Noting that present education policies need changes and intervention by the department, NSF secretary education Imtiyapang in statement said in some government schools there is access of teachers while many schools have no adequate teachers. For which, the Federation in a three-point-representation to the director, department of school education submitted demanded to stop all transfers and posting of teachers in the middle of the academic season, secondly, appointment/deployment of teachers in all the schools where there is no adequate teachers, and thirdly, to review the powers and functions of Village Education Committee (VEC).
