Education must for children: Kavita Acharya

Dimapur, Sep 12 (EMN): Underlining the importance of education, Governor’s wife Kavita Acharya has insisted the parents to send their children to schools.
Kavita said this in her address during a workshop cum awareness programme on ‘Women & child with special focus on Nepali community’ as the chief on September 9 at Sahitya Sabha Hall, Kohima. She encouraged parents to spend time together with their children and get to know their friends and activities in school. ‘Treat your child as a friend and communicate often and pray together,’ she said.
She also called on the gathering to educate the girl child and to respect women. She also expressed happiness to see the unity amongst the Nepali community in the State capital.
Guest of honour and wife of State chief secretary, Runjhu Kumar, in her speech, said a child is a gift from God and called upon all the gathering to always trust the capacity of their children and to encourage them as they grow up. She also emphasised on the importance of sharing the positives of life with their children.
Resource persons of the one-day workshop were Kethosilie of Childline 1098, Kohima; Vikuo of One Stop Centre, Kohima; Kenei Whuorie of Childline 1098, Kohima; and Sanjib Rana, Advocate of Guahati High Court, Nagaland Bench.
The workshop was organised by the North Eastern Region Service Nepali Association, Kohima.
