Dimapur, AUGUST 25:Additional Director (HOD) of School Education, Wonthongo Tsopoe, along with the Deputy Director, Lipok Jamir, and the Statistical Officer, Tsupong, visited SDEO establishment in Pfutsero and held discussion with the GHS staff of Phusachodu and Zuketsa villages on August 23.
Interacting with the staff, the HOD said, in order to revamp the education system in the state, the year 2016 would be a year of inspection and monitoring. With this, he said the department has constituted a team of officers into three groups to visit the SDEOs, DEOs, and government schools in all the districts. Stating that the inspection and monitoring would be very strict, he has directed all the establishments to prepare the progress report and submit to the inspection team.
While exhorting the teachers, the HOD asked all the teaching faculty and staff to work hard with sincerity and dedication to deliver quality education in the government schools. He also asked the teachers to take up teaching on mission mode.He also opined that working in rural areas is always a challenging where teachers take upon the responsibility of parents adding that they are the only resource person available for the students.
He, therefore, urged the teachers to understand the value involved in their present posting place throughout the academic session. He also shared his vision on strengthening of the Directorate for better delivery system so that the welfare of teachers is taken care.
The HOD has sought for healthy competition among schools, SDEO/ DEO establishments on good governance. He also called upon the teaching community to do their best to deliver justice to the people and win the trust and confidence of the local populace. He also warned that the department will not tolerate any teachers who deviate from duties and responsibilities in their respective posting places.
Meanwhile, he has appreciated the strong community involvement towards strengthening of education system in the village especially in Phusachodu Government High School under Phek district. He appreciated that the school chapel hall was built through community participation.
He further urged the teaching community to be an agent of change for the society.
