[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he 22nd Annual Session of the Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (EDSSU) began Monday at Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazaar with HK Khulu, IAS, former Additional Chief Secretary as the chief guest.
Khulu, in his speech, spoke about preserving and protecting one’s culture and tradition and also to do researches and document it. He also spoke about the eroding values of honesty, respect for elders, dignity of labour etc which were an inherent part of the forefathers. He said these values must be upheld and practiced by the younger generation.Khulu encouraged the students to make a fruitful outcome of the annual session by working towards their theme: “Glorious Generation.”
Er. Toky Chishi, Advisor, EDSSU and Assistant Director Industry & Commerce exhorted the students and advised them to make right use of technology as many young people tend to misuse it.
Other highlights of the inaugural programme included presentation of songs and choreography.
