Dimapur, Sep. 20 (EMN): The East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) has extended its support to the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce Industry, Dimapur Naga Students’ Union, Central Nagaland Students’ Association and other organisations in their demand to roll back Covid-29 cess on petroleum products.
The association in a press release on Sunday stated that the hike of fuel price is adding more burden on the people during the pandemic, which has already affected businessmen and common people.
“Government of other countries and states have announced different schemes to ease the burden of the people, but in contrast, the government of Nagaland hiked the price on petroleum products due to which the price of essential commodities has increased which made the life of the common people harder,” it stated.
While urging the government to roll back cess as demanded by different organisations, the EDBA stated that failure to do so ‘it will have no other option but to go against the government and stand along with the common people’.
