Economics and Statistics department releases seven reports
DIMAPUR — The department of Economics and Statistics achieved a significant milestone by releasing seven reports under the SSS sub-scheme. The reports were released by H Sethrongkyu Sangtam, advisor of Information Technology and Communication, Evaluation, Economics and Statistics, at the conference hall of the directorate of Economics and Statistics in Kohima on Tuesday.
Speaking at the programme, Sethrongkyu expressed gratitude to the department for the success in unveiling seven reports simultaneously. He underscored the importance of accurate data for effective implementation of any programme, stated a DIPR report.
While emphasising the crucial role of the Economics and Statistics department, he urged officers and staff to discharge their duties with sincerity. He has assured continuous support to the department and acknowledged the historic achievement of releasing seven reports at one go.
Sangtam expressed hope that the released publications would greatly assist the state government and the people of Nagaland in formulating policies.
List of reports released on Tuesday included ‘Type study on other services sector in Nagaland,’ ‘Study on price for GSDP/DDP estimation,’ ‘Survey on urban waste management in Nagaland,’ ‘Thematic study on cost of cultivation on major crops and agriculture product pricing at district level,’ ‘Survey on minor minerals in Nagaland,’ ‘Methodological development for improving SDP and DDP’ and ‘District-wise projected population of Nagaland from 2021 to 2030.’
The programme was chaired by Charles Nchumthung Kikon, additional director of Economics and Statistics, while the reports were presented by Nedilhou Angami, director of Economics and Statistics.
A short speech was delivered by Mohammad Ali Shihab A, secretary to the Government of Nagaland, and a song was presented by P Themshao and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Neisatuo Puro, additional director of Economics and Statistics.
