ECI team in state to assess poll preparation

Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): Officials of the Election Commission of India (ECI) will arrive in Nagaland on a two-day visit on Feb. 14, according to the chief electoral officer (CEO) of Nagaland. A press statement from the CEO on Tue. informed that the ECI team will review preparations for polls in Nagaland scheduled for Feb. 27. They will meet representatives of political parties; and will review presentation from CEO Nagaland and state police nodal officer, and have a ‘review meeting’ with all DEOs /SPs /Commissioner /IG CRPF /DIG ranges. There will be separate meeting with officials from the departments of Income Tax, Excise, Narcotics (both state and central), and RBI representatives. On Feb. 15, the team will meet the chief secretary, the DGP and other senior government officials. It will be followed by a press conference at Hotel Japfu at 10.45 am.
