DIMAPUR — The Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) is now officially affiliated with the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), the apex body representing the seven tribes of eastern Nagaland.
This affiliation was officially declared by ENPO president Tsapikiu Sangtam during a programme in Tuensang on Thursday. Special guests including ministers G Kaito Aye, CL John, and MLAs C Kipili Sangtam and Imtichoba Chang were present at the programme.
On the occasion, president of ESH, Tokishe Sumi said that the Sumi people have coexisted with the eastern Nagaland tribes, namely Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Phom, Sangtam, Tikhir, and Yimkhiung, for a long time. He expressed hope that the unity and peace in diversity would continue.
Leaders from various frontal organisations of the eastern Nagaland region also delivered short speeches along with the elected representatives.
