Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation to meet Ministry of Home Affairs on Aug. 13
DIMAPUR — The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) is scheduled to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on August 13 in New Delhi.
The ENPO delegation will include both former executives and the newly elected team led by president A Chingmak Chang. Sources within the ENPO have indicated that this meeting will serve as an introduction of the new leadership to the MHA.
However, it is expected that the ENPO will also use this opportunity to re-engage with the Government of India regarding their ongoing dialogue on the Frontier Nagaland Territory, over which the eastern region abstained from participating in two crucial elections — the Lok Sabha election and the Urban Local Body election.
During the formal handover ceremony in July, Chang had told the media that he intends to pick up where his predecessor left off.
