DIMAPUR — The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has informed that all government projects being taken up in six eastern districts would be halted till further notice, as part of the ongoing bandh.

“In view of the ongoing public emergency and subsequent total shut down in the entire eastern Nagaland areas against the delay to settle the offer of the government of India for creation of Frontier Nagaland Territory through the Ministry of Home Affairs, it is informed to all the concerned that, any ongoing state and central government sponsored constructions (building, roads, supplies) should be halted until further notice,” read an update issued by ENPO on Friday.

It came just days after announcing relaxation of certain restrictions imposed as part of the total shutdown, while reiterating continuation of ‘public emergency’. The exemptions included “public movement with private vehicles, all government and private educational institutions, Power Department, medical emergencies, Fire & Emergency Services, PHED (Domestic lines), banking, postal services and telecommunications, business establishments including private construction”.
