Eastern colleges support apex body’s demand
Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): The Wangkhao Government College Students, Yingli College Students’ Union, Sao Chang College Students’ Union and Zisaji Presidency College Students’ Union have strongly supported the demand made by the Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) on the grievances facing by the students of the four colleges from Eastern Nagaland.
In a press statement jointly appended by presidents and secretaries of the four mentioned colleges, stated that the four college students’ unions will stand with the ENCSU until justice is done by the state government and the Higher Education department.
The four colleges stated that the students from the colleges of Eastern Nagaland have been facing untold problems due to the insincerity act of the government and the department. When the students from other districts are enjoying all the facilities, we are deprived from enjoying even the basic necessity. We feel that it is time for the government and the department to ponder upon the problem faces by the Eastern students and deliver the justice, the press release stated.
“We are studying in our areas despite of all the problems and grievances not because we want to but it is a compulsion due to our financial constraints” they added.
The college unions also mentioned that not even a single day of their college days pass without the problem.
“From teaching faculty to library facilities to transportation to infrastructure, we have been deprived since the inception of our respective college. But shockingly, the government and the department want the enrollment of the colleges to increase tremendously when our institutions are in such deplorable condition” they stated.
They also questioned had the government and the department treated them equally to rest brothers and sisters from other districts.
The students’ union of Wangkhao College, Sao Chang College, Yingli College and Zisaji Presidency College reiterated that they will stand firmly with their apex body till justice has been delivered.
“No matter what consequences we face, we are ready to face it because we can’t bear this discrimination and injustice anymore” they press release added.
