Eastern Christian school, Chozuba was declared the winner of the Phek District
“Girls Music Band Competition” held on Sat.July 20 at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall in Chozuba.
According to a press release on Sunday, the competition was organised by the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chozuba in collaboration with the District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendr, Phek. The third stage of “Girls Music Band Competition” for Chozuba Sub-Division saw Eastern Christian High School band emerging as the winner while Praise Girls band of St. Andrew High School, Thenyizu and the armonic Girls band of Government Higher Secondary School, Chozuba coming in first and second runner- up respectively.
This competition was organised as part of the central government’s initiative to save and educate the girl child in the country and to generate awareness and improve efficiency of the girls. Speaking on the occasion, Vileno Kapu the Women Welfare Officer, District Level Centre for Women, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Phek highlighted the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme and mentioned the importance of a girl child to step out of their comfort zone and discover their inborn gifts and talents, the statement read.
The fourth stage of the competition for Phek Sadar will take place on July 24 at Phek Town from 3:30 PM onwards, it informed.
