Eastern Academy School observes parents’ day

Dimapur, Oct. 28 (EMN): To honour the parents of students, Eastern Academy Higher Secondary School Diphupar, Dimapur celebrated parents’ day on Oct. 28 at the school premises.
Addressing the gathering, former NLA speaker ET Ezung , who is also the proprietor of the school observed that since time immemorial schools were built on the foundation of educating children to learn and to keep learning and to plant the seeds of learning in young minds.
“Education does not end after class 12 or after college or after acquiring degrees…it is a lifelong process for all,” Ezung said and reiterated that Eastern Academy also aims to show the students the hunger for learning today, tomorrow and any time in the future.
DPRO Dimapur, Lolano Patton speaking on behalf of the parents lauded the school administration for declaring the 1st Saturday of every month as traditional outfit day. Through such programme, students as young as class 2 standard learns about the diversity and cultural heritage by just looking at the traditional outfit worn by his or her friends which creates a sense of cultural consciousness amongst the young minds, she maintained.
On behalf of the parents, Patton thanked the administrator, principal and teachers of the school for their selfless contributions rendered towards the progress and all round development of the children.
Principal of the school Malin said education is a triangular system involving parents, teachers and students for a student to grow and make them responsible citizens.
School Board member, Ate Kapfo also spoke on the occasion.
Marking the day colourful entertainment items including dances, skits, cultural attire show; guitar ensemble; rendition by school choir were presented by the students.
