DIMAPUR — The Modern Pythian Games, Northeast Council, Nagaland State Council, held its inaugural e-sports event at Immanuel College, Dimapur, on August 31.

According to a press release, the event was attended by Biswadeep Gupta, deputy secretary of the International Pythian Council and in-charge coordinator for Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) nations, NE India and West Bengal, who served as the special guest.

Dr. Rahul Banerjee, visiting professor at Loyola Marymount University, Hilton Centre of Business, Los Angeles and Stanford University, California, USA, attended the event as a special guest. Tenyebinlo Himb, press secretary to the MP Rajya Sabha from Nagaland, was the guest of honour at the opening ceremony.

The competition featured Augustine Lalmingthang Hmar, Wanyelo Semp, and Moalong as judges. The winners were Divine, who secured the first prize; Niko, who won the second prize; and Good Student, who finished third.

The event was spearheaded by Dr. David Keneingutuo Sorunuo, Northeast Council member, Nagaland State Council, along with his team member Tokivi Yepthomi and other associates. It concluded with a felicitation programme where Michael Kath was the guest of honour.
