Dzulhami PHC conducts adolescent health awareness programme
DIMAPUR — The Dzulhami Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Chozuba block conducted an awareness programme on various adolescent health issues for school students on August 23.
Dr. Kevi Sekhose, medical officer at Dzulhami PHC, led the programme, which included health staff and anganwadi workers.
With a focus on adolescent health, the MO and team delivered health talks on the importance of menstrual hygiene, personal hygiene, and sex education. The team conducted separate health awareness talks on menstrual hygiene and sex education for female students from 12 years of age and above.
According to a press release, providing sex education to adolescents is important because it informs them about reproductive health, related organs, and sexually transmitted diseases and protects them from misconceptions about various sex-related issues.
During the awareness activity, students were also informed about the importance of taking Albendazole tablets, which treat worm infections.
