Kohima, Dec. 29 (EMN): Unidentified miscreants on Tuesday reportedly set fire near Dzükou Valley, spreading alarm in the Southern Angami region in Kohima.
Sources from Southern Angami Youth Organisation (Sayo) informed Eastern Mirror that the wildfire, which originated at the halfway point to Dzükou from Viswema route, has spread towards Jakhama route and Dzükou viewpoint at the time of filing this report.
It was learnt that Sayo had sent volunteers to ‘take stock of the situation’ on receiving the information.
However, it was said that by the time they reached the spot, it was already dark and they were “unable to prevent the fire from spreading”.
The organisation said it will take stern action against those behind the “unlawful activity”.
